"Awesome ale, absolutely awesome. I sampled it at the Great Canadian Beer Festival and was delighted to discover, via the miracle of the internet, that a BC liquor store relatively close to me has a few 6 packs. They won’t have them for long!"

The Gordie Tentrees Band

Posted on May 09, 2005 at 12:51 AM in Events

I don’t know if we can do justice to telling you about Gordie Tentries. If you’ve been in the Yukon for the past few years you have certainly heard him play, and if you’ve been reading this blog for a while you had a chance to hear him as well.

We know his tour schedule last year, and if you haven’t seen him play by now that’s not because he wasn’t playing near by. If you miss him this summer, that will be both your fault and your loss.

We’ve had a look at Gordie’s tour schedule for the summer and he seems to be playing everywhere this summer, including the North Country Fair, Dauphin Countryfest, some of the best bars all across the west from Manitoba to BC and he still has time for regular shows through the Yukon. All I’ll say is this… If your looking for a good night, don’t miss The Gordie Tentries Band.

Here’s a list of some reviews from some much better qualified people:

“The Gordie Tentrees Band damn near stole the show at our festival this summer. Their high-energy show had the dance floor hoping. He is much at home playing roots, folk, blues as he is with rock!”
Stephen Badhar
Artistic Director Atlin Music Festival

“He has his own sense of soul and captures it well with the blues...His songs have a realness to them not to be lost!”
Colin Linden & Tom Wilson
Blackie and The Rodeo Kings

“Having started a mere 5 years ago, Gordie Tentrees has come to the point that many artisits can take a decade or two to reach.”
David Gilmour
Yukon Audio Borealis
What’s Up Yukon

“Gordie Tentrees is a musical force to be reckoned with no matter where he hails from.”
Brent Raynor
NOW Magazine

Hey… what do you mean “no matter where he hails from?. Brent, I think you need to come up to the Yukon to see the talent we have here.

“In the 5 years that I have covered this festival (CMW), I can’t recall any band that I was sadder to see leave the stage than the Gordie”
